Dave Wilson
California Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 21143)
Idaho Registered Counselor Intern (4881601)
I’m glad you’re here.
Working with people is my passion. With more than 20 years of experience working in non-clinical settings, I have been privileged to walk alongside others through some of the hardest moments of their lives and witness the strength and healing that can emerge from those experiences.
This passion has now led me into the mental health counseling field, where I now specialize in working with teens, adults, and couples, and helping them navigate life with greater clarity, resilience, and connection to themselves and others.
I believe therapy works best when people feel safe, understood, and genuinely accepted. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in authentic human connection. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, mood-related challenges, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions, I strive to create a space where you can speak honestly without fear of judgment, while also creating meaningful steps forward towards the life you truly desire.
While my therapeutic approach draws from Attachment-Based Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Polyvagal Theory, it is always tailored to your individual needs. I am also able to incorporate your spiritual perspective into the counseling process if you desire.

My Experience
I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. After college, I worked for Young Life as an Area Director for 10 years. Then I accepted a position as an ordained pastor working with Young Adults at a multisite, non-denominational church for the next 10 years. While pastoring, I obtained my Master of Arts degree in Theology and Ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary.
Once I determined I wanted to enter the mental health profession, I returned to graduate school at the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine and completed my Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling. I’m also certified in Spiritual Direction, Enneagram coaching, SYMBIS pre-marital curriculum, and One-Life Process consulting.
I am currently employed by Mealer Family Therapy, APC as a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in California (APCC 21143) and an Idaho Registered Counselor Intern (4881601). I am working towards full licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor in both California and Idaho. My clinical supervisor is Rebecca Mealer, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA LMFT 105898, ID LMFT-8854).
In My Spare Time
I enjoy staying active, spending time in nature, discovering a great thrift store find, and going on family adventures with my wife and two daughters. I’m also a longtime fan of the World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers and enjoy playing fantasy sports with friends.
In my downtime, I love a good book that inspires personal growth—or anything that sparks joy and brings about a good belly laugh.
